Day Two & Closing Highlights – Health Policy and Systems Research Conference | University of Bosaso – Garoowe

The Health Policy and Systems Research Conference, held under the theme “Advancing Health Policy and Systems Research for Building a Resilient Health System in Somalia,” was officially concluded at the University of Bosaso – Garoowe after two days of impactful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and academic engagement.

Throughout the conference, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on Somalia’s health policies and systems, with particular focus on maternal and child health advocacy, as well as strategies for advancing and operationalizing long-term national health goals. The sessions reflected a strong commitment to evidence-based approaches and collaborative solutions aimed at strengthening the resilience and effectiveness of the healthcare system in Somalia.

The conference was officially closed by the Minister of Health of Puntland, accompanied by the State Minister of Planning. In his closing remarks, the Minister emphasized the importance of translating the diverse research presented during the conference into practical implementation. He further reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with all stakeholders to enhance healthcare development in Puntland and across Somalia.
